PCS is adding earthquakes and wildfire activity to its Earth-system event scope. Earthquake observations prioritize the public USGS event catalog, while fire and thermal anomalies use satellite sources such as NASA FIRMS.
The purpose is to make events across time and regions readable together. These layers do not replace official hazard alerts and must not be used as the sole source for emergency decisions.
